Research Engineer/Senior Research Engineer - Coated Abrasives

Objective of the Position

Works closely with the R n D, Sales, Marketing and Business Development functions to understand the customers’ and the market’s needs in the area of coated abrasives and non wovens. Will be responsible for product development activities and creation of IP.

Key Accountabilities

Specific Accountabilities are as follows:

Be the liason between the R&D and production ensuring effective communication. Set up required lab capability to generate data and drive Research & Development
Lead short-term development projects to support immediate needs of business and R&D. Document results and present to R&D/Business teams
Translate technologies from lab scale to pilot and production; efficient use of lab equipments and deliver value to business
Work closely with sales & marketing to identify new product development needs and follow-up with trials

Skill & Knowledge

Dynamic, innovative, product development skills
Methodical and organized with demonstrated experience in product development in the area of coated abrasives/non wovens
Good communication and demonstrated experience in coated abrasives/non wovens
Ability to work with production, enabling customer trials and commercializing technologies will be a key requirement for the job

Academic Qualification

Masters in engineering/polymers with industrial experience in coated abrasives/non wovens. Demonstrated experience in product development, working closely with plant/business is a prerequisite.

Years of Experiences

Masters with 3-6 years R & D experience or Bachelor's upto10 years relevant experience
Engineering and polymers background with industrial experience in non wovens and coated abrasive products
Demonstrated track record of lab-scale and pilot-scale product development
Experience working with global R n D and interface strongly with sales & marketing functions, customer facing experience will be an added plus
