Research Engineer-Abrasives – Bonded Abrasives

Objective of the Position

Conducts research on composites of abrasives with organic and rubber bonding materials, leading to product development for industrial applications

The specific aspects related to this job include:

• Developing new material compositions, characterization and relate structure – property and performance relationships
• Developing experimental approaches and testing new concepts for continuous improvement of products and processes
• Interacting with researchers, manufacturing team, applications engineers and commercial team members to communicate research output, scale-up activities, products performance results and solve customer problems respectively

Skill & Knowledge

Experience in either field is appreciated:

• Polymer (ideally thermoset chemistry) and Elastomers
• Surface modification of fillers
• Industry EHS practices and awareness

Education

Academic Qualification

M-Tech or PhD in Polymer chemistry or Rubber chemistry and technology

Experience

• Application oriented Polymer formulation development
• Demonstrated application of statistical tools for parameter optimization.
