General Characteristics

• Entry level position of professional computer aided design engineer. 
• Performs a variety of design/drafting activities including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, and establishing guidelines and procedures for CAD data management.

Dimension & Responsibility

• The Incumbent is an individual contributor who is required to work seamlessly with the plant and projects engineers to develop mechanical system designs and to revise them

Guidance and Authority

• Reports to Research Group Leader or individual contributor.  Assistance and guidance readily available. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, Develop, and document new products from concept through engineering release to production - Prepare complex 3D assemblies and drawings of systems for installation and manufacturing and perform conversion of concept designs into detailed designs for prototyping.
• Good Proficiency in commercial CAD packages such as CATIA, Inventor etc with a strong background in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with plants to ensure consistent documentation of projects.
• Develop and maintain design calculations and other documentation like drawings, bill of materials, and list of design parameters as a best practice.
• Experience on design standards and drafting guidelines - Following the set customer standards and CAD methodology.
• Good communication and presentation skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.

Required Education and Experience

• B.E (Mechanical, Production or other relevant areas) with design and detailing experience for more than 3 years.
